Memorial Day Weekend at the River

This weekend was our first weekend at the River with Lilly. It was also a weekend of many other firsts for Lilly. I was a little worried about the ride down there since it was the first time Lilly had been in the car for a long period of time. We left around 8, and stopped in Mechanicsville for dinner. We fed her at dinner, and she slept in the car the entire ride. We got down there around midnight, just in time for her to eat again. Saturday Steve and Dave went fishing and I got a nice nap on the boat. It was a little windy and not too hot. I love napping on the boat. It is very relaxing. Saturday night our friends John and Amy and their little boy Colby, who is 5 months old, came down.

Once the babies went to bed we stayed up and played Taboo and had a few drinks. It was nice to be with friends and have adult conversation. Not that we don't love the baby talk conversations we have with Lilly, because we do!! Sunday we all went out on the boat and Lilly had her first boat ride. It was pretty windy, but she seemed to love it. She slept most of the time. She got to wear her sun hat, pink polka dot bathing suit and cover-up. She looked adorable!

Sunday night Lilly had another first - her first sunset! It was gorgeous.

Monday was another gorgeous day. The boys fished again while I got a tan (well it ended up a bad burn that I am still in pain from). Mom watched Lilly while we were out on the boat. It was weird being away from her, but it was relaxing and I got another long nap.
It was a great weekend, and it was nice to get away and have a change of scenery. We didn't realize how much stuff we had to pack for a weekend for a baby, but it was well worth it. Now it's back to reality! Lilly was a little thrown off by this weekend, so we are now trying to get her back into her routine. We just put her down for bed, so now we are going to bed!!
