Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July. On Thursday we packed up the car and headed down to the "Rivah" for the weekend. It was a gorgeous weekend full of lots of sun, time on the boat, yummy food and great time spent with friends and family. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

This weekend was Lilly's first time spent on the boat for a long period of time and she did great. On Friday we packed a lunch and spent a good part of the afternoon out on the water. We took books, toys, and snacks to keep her occupied! She loved walking around on the boat from person to person and dancing to the music.

On Saturday Kelly and Steven came to visit for the day. Again, we spent the day out on the water. The boys fishing and the girls trying to get some sun! Lilly was exhausted from the day before and slept a good portion of the time. We are are so lucky how easy-going she is!

Grandpa and Lilly. What a sweet picture! Dave snapped this picture right before the boat was put in the water Friday morning. I think Lilly even has her jammies on under her life vest still! She was ready to go, but wasn't a huge fan of the life vest. We bought it last summer for her to wear and it was huge on her. I was so scared that if there were an emergency and we really needed to use it that she would just slip right out. This year it fits like a glove. It is amazing how much she's grown in a year!

Lilly loved haning out in her pool ! She splish splashed around and was in heaven! I have to admit that when she was done splashing around we stripped her down and bathed her right in the pool before her nap! It was so much easier than taking her inside soaking wet and then putting her in the tub!

Saturday evening we had a big 4th of July cookout. It was delicious! One of my favorite things about summer is cookouts! We had a 4th of July cake for dessert and that sure was Lilly's favorite part!

After dinner we built a fire and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores! Oh so yummy!! It was nice to sit around the fire with family and watch the fireworks on the river! It was a great end to a wonderful day!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July.
